2009 E3: Nintendo Run Down

SJ Takes a hard look at Nintendo’s presents at E3 and runs down the highlights.

Lets dive right in:

Nintendo Wii

Super Mario Bros for Wii announced can play 1-4 players 

• Item Boxes can produce one item per player generally but not always
• New Items include Propeller suit
• Players will have about 3 seconds to touch the flag at the end of the level after the first person touches it if they want bonus points at the end of level certain things such as number f enimies killed and coins collected will be tallied into your score and will give you a ranking amongst your team. It will launch Holiday 2009

Wii Fit Plus Announced

• Wii Fit Plus now has a "Lockeroom" option where you can basically become your own personal trainer.  Six new Strength and Yoga activities in Wii Fit Plus.  There are 15 new balancing games including Juggling and Skateboarding  will arrive this fall in a bundle with the Wii Balance Board there will also be a standalone purchase for those with the Wii Balance Board.

Wii Motion Plus Add-on

• The Wii Motion Plus, which was first introdused last year, is indroduced, and will be released standalone for $19.99 on June 8th 2009, the Wii Motion Plus is an add-on to the Wii Remote that increases precision.

Wii Sports Resort

• Wii Sports Resort was discussed and will be released July 26th which was designed specifically for for the Wii Motion Plus
• You'll start by Jumping out of an Airplane
• Skydiving will be the first activity in the game
• You can turn as well as spin in mid air and also grab onto other Mii's you can also dive straight down or flatten out to grab onto other Mii's
• Wii Sports Resort will take place on an island once you land activities will include to do Archery and a Basketball Three Point Shooting contest to name a couple of them it launches July 26th

EA Sports & Wii Motion Plus

• EA Sports Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2010 announced it will use Wii Motion Plus Technology, the game and the Wii Motion Plus will be sold together in a bundle.  EA Grand Slam Tennis and Sega's Virtua Tennis 2009 will also use Wii Motion Plus Technology all 3 of these games will be available in a matter of weeks.

Games, and more Games

• Red Steel 2 announced and will only be playable with Wii Motion Plus they did not show a video or announce a date, though Ubisoft had a hands-on Preview and it is slated to release in Q4 2009.
• Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers announced exclusively for the Wii. Graphics on this look pretty good No release date announced, though it is slated for release Q4 2009.
• Wii Vitality Sensor introduced it measures your pulse as well as shows you how your inner body such as nerves and thoughts are processed, No date announced for release
• Super Mario Galaxy 2 announced this game in my opinion looks immensely fun. Sadly no release date announced, The game is planned for 2010.
• The Conduit is announced. This is a first person shooter that to me looks fun as hell from what I've seen it'll be out in about 2 and a half weeks.
• Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles looks like your typical run of the mill Resident Evil games but that can be a good thing looks like a pretty entertaining game.
• Dead Space Extraction announced for the Wii this game will explain what happened that caused the space disaster in the original Dead Space.
• Metroid other M if you're a Metroid fan you'll probably want this game looked awesome from the preview it'll be 2010

Nintendo DS

• Kingdom Hearts for the Nintendo DS announced video looks like it'll be fun but there was no Release date announced
•  Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story announced it's a Super Mario Bros Game that’s an RPG looks okay if you like RPG's and Super Mario Bros you might want to give a shot. It’ll be out this fall
•  Golden Sun DS announced the video looked good but no announced date of release other then 2010
•  Women's Murder Club games of passion by Author James Patterson announced you can play as one of 3 characters looks Kind of CSIish
• COP the Recruit announced it looks like it has the story of “Fast and the Furious.” Undercover Cop gone Street Racer.
•  Style Savvy announced for the DS it's a fashion design game more geared for females.

Nintendo DSi

• Flip Notes studio which is like an animation game where you animate your own movie is available this summer looks interesting
•  Mario vs Donkey Kong Mini's March Again announce this game’s best feature is that it will let you create your own levels and share them with friends either locally or via Nintendo Wifi. This looks pretty fun and I like the idea of being able to create your own levels it'll only be available as a download for Nintendo DSIWare starting June 8th.
•  WarioWare DYI Announced with this game you'll pretty much be able to design your own game everything from players to levels to villains and you'll be able to share it with other Wario Ware DYI owners No release date on this either
•  Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks announced No release date announced no video shown, though it was playable at the Nintendo Booth.
