Product Overview: Saitek has introduced some great game accessories into the PC gaming market. The Eclipse keyboard is a multi-featured gaming keyboard that works as well as it looks. The keyboard has a distinctive, well create back light system that not only surrounds the keys, but the also illuminates through the keys so you can see exactly what you are pressing when it is dark. This keyboard is illuminated perfectly so even in the darkest environment, you are able to see all of the keys clearly. This is a great feature for gamers who enjoy the dark environments as not to disturb others, but also to use so you don't get glare on your monitor from lights. The keyboard has a button to change the light from low to high to off. These settings give you the optimal lighting setting at any time.
[b]Functionality & Design[/b]
The keyboard does not have all the buttons on it like multimedia keyboards, but hey, this keyboard was built for gaming. The keyboard has a volume up, volume down, mute and a light adjust button. They are aligned overtop of the num pad in an easy to use spot position. The key touch is very responsive and feels as if it was tuned for gaming. The weight of the keys is excellent and they are very responsive, especially during gaming, allowing you to be as quick as possible. The keys are a silver finish with the rest of the keyboard being black. For the gaming environment, they also include a wrist rest. This is easily snapped onto the keyboard and is adjustable in three positions. It can be flush with the keyboard, snapped out once, and snapped out once again. This provides the most comfortable extended gaming experience. You can position it so that your wrists are raised up resting on it, while you're hands can reach all of the keys, this is an issue with most keyboards with wrist rests, but that issue is not found on this keyboard.
The Eclipse also includes adjustable stands so you can get the optimum angle on your keyboard setup. The design of the keyboard is great, and it is very functional. The design looks futuristic along with the blue lights and looks great in the dark. The keyboard does not include hot keys like other multimedia keyboards, with the exception of the volume control and light control keys. These four buttons, along with the rest of the keys are clearly defined on the keyboard for you to see in light or darkness.

This key board is USB based and does not include and additional USB ports, so you have to make sure that you have an available USB port, but on today's computers, this is not an issue with computers usually having a large array of available ports to use. The comfort of this keyboard is great, and the features it includes makes it one of the best gaming keyboards available on the market.

The Saitek Eclipse is the ultimate gaming keyboard, not only because of the keys touch and the easy to use layout, also the comfort with the adjustable wrist rest and tilt. This keyboard would be amazing with just those features, but the included, extremely well executed back light makes it a great keyboard to use in dark environments. Saitek has made huge improvements with the Eclipse keyboard, and this method of lighting creates a great looking, and extremely functional, responsive keyboard.
