EarThumps

Platform:  Computer / Handheld   Manufacturer:  Griffin   Manufacturer Site:  Griffin Technology

Product Overview: Griffin's EarThumps are tiny in-canal headphones that are the perfect replacement for those old iPod buds. The EarThumps cost 20 dollars but are well worth the money because of its great bass and durability; it rivals headphones in the 100-150 dollar range and blows away the iPod Ear Buds. These EarThumps are named this for a reason, I learned this the hard way and now keep the volume under half otherwise you will most likely not have much hearing later on. In my opinion these get much louder than the iPod buds, mostly because these in-canal headphones isolate outside sound and focuses the music straight into the ear unlike the iPod buds. I actually had the music loud enough for everyone in the car to hear and to my surprise my family began singing the song (badly if I may add).

The EarThumps come with six silicon (looks like rubber to me) ear pieces guaranteed to fit every ear size and shape, well as long as the ears are round. It also comes with a nice little, very padded, gray Griffin case to store your headphones and the ear pieces in. This carrying case is the same one Griffin bundled with their older Earjams. To tell you the truth I do not use the case but it is still a nice addition.

These headphones are quite comfortable and look much better in the ear than the odd looking iPod buds; though the cord is a bit too long and can be awkward at times (I usually tuck half the cord into my pocket). The best feature the EarThumps offer is that they block outside sound fairly well so in the end you really do not need to have the iPod's volume too high. One thing though, some people such as my sister do not like the enhanced bass so if this sounds like you all you have to do is turn the EQ settings on your iPod to something with less bass or just take the ear buds out a small amount and then your all set.

All around you really can not go wrong with this purchase; at 20 dollars you receive the in-canal headphones, long cord, case, and 6 earpieces. I figure these headphones were the best upgrade I got for my iPod (yes they are that good). Thank you for reading my wonderful review on the amazing EarThumps and it's in some cases too impressive bass.

92/100
